Aaykar Seva Kendra A multi-faceted mechanism for achieving excellence in public service delivery reflecting the service quality policy of the income tax department.
A single point of contract for the taxpayers where taxpayer request for services including grievances are registered and acknowledged through unique identifier for tracking the request through its life cycle.
Guided by sevottam a service quality management framework for government organizations and reflects a change in the mindset of the income tax department from an exclusive enforcement agency to that of a service provider as well.
Currently, 296 ASKs are operational across 29 states and 7 union territories. Income tax department aims to reach every corner of the nation. even distribution of ASKs aims ease of access of citizen.
Aaykar Seva Kendra adhere to the service quality standards as set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under IS: 15700:2005 certification. currently, 296 ASK’s are operational across Country.

The various Tax Payers Services(TPS) being provided at Aaykar Seva Kendra are as under :
- Single window system for registration of all taxpayer applications/returns.
- Various Forms/Application could be filed in person.
- System generated a unique acknowledgment number issued on the spot.
- Unique number can be used for monitoring the status of applications and returns.
- Submission of Grievances.
- Status of PAN Application and other PAN related issues.
- Service of Tax Return Preparer(TRP).
